MarieElena has been active in both research and clinical care throughout her career. She brings more than ten years of leadership experience in clinical research site management to the Worldwide team. She is also a clinically active nurse practitioner with more than 17 years of experience and a specialty in endocrinology. She has served as principal and sub-investigator for cardiometabolic trials and holds publications in peer-reviewed high-impact journals. She is passionate about bringing her understanding of the patient journey to the Worldwide team.

Prior to her current role at Worldwide, she served as Associate Vice President of Clinical Trials at Nuvance Health, where she managed research sites and more than 80 trials in New York and Connecticut across all therapeutic areas. MarieElena is a strong advocate for increasing the role of nurse practitioners in clinical trial research. She was an active member of the leadership council for the Society of Clinical Research Sites, and the site liaison for her hospital network in the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative. She has spoken at national meetings on topics highlighting the importance of early site engagement in protocol development, collaboration, and data management.
MarieElena holds a Master of Arts in Professorial Nursing from Teacher’s College Columbia University, a Post Graduate Certificate Nurse Practitioner from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a Certificate of Graduate Study in Public Health from the University of Vermont.
