Mr. Comhaire began his career in the pharmaceutical industry as a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) and Project Manager overseeing the infectious disease studies of a European based mid-size CRO. Following migration to the USA, he assumed the responsibilities of Director Clinical Operations and VP Clinical research, managing the US division of the company as well as providing executive oversight to all studies executed by the US entity. More recently, he has guided a small pharma company through their phase III clinical development, and prior to joining Worldwide, served as Executive Director for a CRO focused on early phase clinical development.
Throughout his career Mr. Comhaire participated in various clinical development, trial design, and advisory committees. In addition, he has managed and overseen more than 100 phase I-III clinical trials across various therapeutic areas, including infectious diseases, CNS, inflammatory, genetic and GI disorders as well as endocrinology, nephrology, respiratory, women’s health and orthopedics.
Mr. Comhaire has conducted studies with neonates, children, adolescents, adults and elderly, and has experience with renal and hepatic impairment PK studies. His rare disease experience includes ADA-SCID, Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome, Lamellar Ichthyosis, Fabry disease, Lupus Nephritis, C3 glomerulopathy and Niemann-Pick disease.
Mr. Comhaire has a MS degree in Biology from the University of Antwerp, Belgium.
